French Press

Is a method of brewing coffee that most of us are familiar with, the french press or cafetière being freely available on most high streets.

A heaped tablespoon of coffee is about 7 grams, you will need 1.5 tablespoons of coffee for every mug of water (250 ml).

The coffee used is a medium/coarse grind for a french press. The coffee sits in the water, rather than passing through it as with most filtered methods. The coffee oils will remain in the brewed coffee, giving a sharper flavour.
